Stress-Free Parking

The smaller car parks are often free after 6pm but do check the Council Car Park web pages for the specific details. Here you will find a detailed breakdown of useful information like exact addresses for your satnav, height restrictions, disabled parking spaces, prices and opening hours.

Most of the stately homes, gardens, country pubs and restaurants in the countryside have their own parking areas which are usually free or included in the entry price.

Those with special access requirements should check with the venue directly to be sure.

Please be aware that many of the villages have narrow roads with limited sightlines, due to their historic layouts; so on-street parking is not to be relied upon. But do not worry as most villages have at least one village hall car park which can be used by visitors.

The villages of BrenchleyCranbrookGoudhurst and Hawkhurst all have their own car parks.

The towns of Paddock Wood and Southborough have conveniently located car parks. In Paddock Wood you can park for 1 hour for free and then pay a small charge. In Southborough you can park for 2 hours free of charge with a payment for longer stays.

How to pay for parking?

Delving around for the correct change is a thing of the past with the online parking facility known as RingGo.  You can also extend your time from your mobile phone which makes it a very easy option.

As well as this, RingGo is cheaper than paying with coins.

On-street parking is very busy and not so easy to achieve in our lively towns plus the RingGo option in the car parks makes it easier to avoid rushing about and watching the clock.

We recommend you register on the website RingGo before going out.  You can also download the app or telephone 01892 88 78 68 (charged at local rate).

Once at your car park of choice, look for the location number of the car park on the signs and make your cashless payment on your smartphone.  Optional texts are charged per text.

Although there is no ticket to display, the Civil Enforcement Officers patrolling have all the details on their handheld machines.

However, if you’re a visitor to the area, don’t worry the traditional coin machines are still in use and you can also tap in and out with a bank card.

We urge you to carefully check the price list on the boards.  One is for the RingGo prices, and one is for cash payments at the machine.

We hope you enjoy your visit to Tunbridge Wells!
