The Cranbrook Literature Festival is a two-day, biennial event held to celebrate Cranbrook’s literary heritage and to promote the joy of the written word to children and adults in and around the Cranbrook area. The festival is run by volunteers that are passionate about reading, writing and all things booky!

Writers booked to appear so far this year include  Christy Lefteri (Bee Keeper of Aleppo and Songbird), Alex Preston (Winchelsea), food writers Jenny Linford (London Cook Book, Kew Gardens Cook Book) and Cat Black (Sex & Drugs and & Sausage Rolls) plus Mary Jane Paterson and Jo Thompson (Rhubarb Rhubarb),  Nicci French, husband and wife writing pair of over 30 psychological thrillers, William Shaw ( Salt Lane, Deadland, The Trawlerman),  E Hannavy Cousen (Of No Consequence),  Vanessa Nicolson (The Truth Game, Have you Been Good, Angels of Mud) plus creative writing workshop with Lulah Ellender. For the children there’s Monster Doughnut author Gianna Pollero, comedian and author Ben Miller, Helen Peters and poet Joshua Seigal. The Cranbrook Literature Festival is  a community, not for profit event enabling the organisers to provide authors to work with pupils in local schools free of charge.
