Join us at one of our lantern making workshops where you will learn how to craft your very own stunning lantern to show off in the Winter Lantern Parade! 

We are asking participants reserving their place online to pay a small donation; this is to avoid the issue of people booking places and not turning up which has happened in previous years. 

We will have different lantern making packs to choose from on the day which will reflect the parade’s theme, ‘Food & Drink’. These will cost £5 each and will vary in size and difficulty. 

Each pack will contain all the things that you need to make a lantern, including an appropriate LED light and instruction and you can choose weather you would like to make the lantern at the workshop or take the pack home with you. All you will need is some PVA glue (which will be provided at the workshops) and lots of imagination!   

Artists and CREATE volunteers will be on hand to help at all the workshops so fear not if this is your first time making a lantern and all proceeds from the packs will go towards the parade as well as helping to fund future community workshops. 

Please ensure that everyone who is attending the workshop (participating or not) purchases a ticket for entry. Due to COVID, we have limited the numbers of attendees and we use our ticket number to accurately gauge how many people we will have joining us in each venue. Please be aware of this before booking a place on one of our workshops. 

We also ask any adults attending the workshops to take a lateral flow test before joining us if possible. If you or your family exhibit any symptoms of COVID on the day of the workshop, we kindly ask you to hold off coming along to the workshop in order to keep our community safe. 

Places are limited and there will only be a small amount of tickets available on the door so be sure to book your ticket through Eventbrite to guarantee your place in the workshop and to avoid disappointment!
