The Festival Theatre is an open-air festival set in the gardens of Hever Castle from May-August. Located in three open-air theatre venues in the gardens: the Two Sisters’ Theatre, the Loggia and Anne Boleyn’s Walk.

The Summer Festival presents a wide selection of shows: family events, plays, films, classical concerts, opera, jazz, comedy and musical tribute performances.

The stage located on the Two Sisters’ Lawn is covered, and the seating tiered, with the vast majority of seats also undercover, other locations are fully open air.

THE AUDIENCE

The audience is able to enter the grounds from 6.30pm for evening performances, where they may enjoy the beautiful Castle gardens and ambience by bringing a picnic, choosing to eat in the Guthrie Pavilion Restaurant or by simply wandering through the magnificent gardens. For matinee performances, the audience may remain in the gardens after the performance until the grounds are closed for the day, usually at 6pm.
