Runners in Lamberhurst, Kent can head to Bewl Water, South East England’s largest body of open fresh water on New Year’s Day for Bewl’s Bubble Run. The event which comprises three chip-timed races appeals to all ages and abilities and has been organised by Nice Work to see in 2023.

Participants can take place in either the 5k or 10k race which will start at 10.00 am at Bewl Water Reservoir on Bewlbridge Lane on Sunday 1 January.

The start line will be filled with bubbles from four machines to provide an epic start funnel for everyone to run through as they make their way around the reservoir.

Adults will receive a glass of free prosecco at the finish line to welcome in the new year and celebrate with other runners who have also completed their first run of 2023.

Bewl’s Bubble Run is UKA registered and chip timed with full results issued on the day. Vouchers for activities at Bewl Water will be awarded to top podium place finishers and all runners will receive a bespoke medal.

For children, there will be a fun run taking place at 9.30 am which will also start with a bubble funnel and finish with goody bags and a medal.

‘The bubble run is a fantastic, family-fun day out and is a great way to challenge the family to a new year’s health kick’ said Bewl Water’s Events Manager Thomas Noble.

There’s a cafe on site so food, coffee and soft drinks will be accessible throughout the day.
