Hononton Cottage is a 16th Century Grade Two listed farmhouse typical of the Kentish Weald, tile hung with a wealth of exposed oak beams throughout.
Located just a mile from the beautiful village of Brenchley at the end of a tranquil lane surrounded by orchards and vines, it serves as an ideal base for a peaceful holiday. Situated eight miles from Royal Tunbridge Wells, it is centrally placed to explore the numerous National Trust properties and gardens in the vicinity.
The cottage offers two rooms that have been sympathetically modernized in keeping with the cottage’s charm. The Willowpit Garden Room on the ground floor has its own external entrance, making it ideal for the less mobile. It features a 6′ 6″ super king bed and an en suite bathroom with a shower. The Furnace Pond on the first floor boasts a comfortable super king-size bed, a large en suite shower room, and two armchairs. As the name implies, it offers a scenic view of the Furnace Pond, Horsmonden, and Goudhurst Church on the horizon.
Breakfast
Breakfast is served in the heavily beamed dining room at the oak refectory table. Traditional cooked, continental and healthy fare is served and fresh Kent produce is sourced from local suppliers, growers and farmers markets wherever possible and all preserves are home made. In the cooler months the log fires will be ablaze in the dining room and lounge and in the Spring and Summer there is seating outside in the garden.
